Oil on Canvas
This painting was originally conceived to make a point that by removing context, images become increasingly abstract. The point, once made, however, was not enough to sustain the painting so the rope ladder was added and the canvas turned through 90 degrees to create a painting about risk-taking and progress. What you see is a small silver Maple Leaf hanging, somewhat precariously, from a rope ladder above Niagara Falls.
